MESSAGE OF THE PRESIDENT

As you know, our Chamber has the leadership of the Federation of Bi-national Chambers of Ecuador (FECABE).  I am very glad to inform you that, among other activities the Federation is executing, on July 12th we subscribed the REDCO Agreement with CORPEI, in order to establish a contact, exchange and spread point of information that will ease the job to promote exports and investments, as well as to support the creation or consolidation of Commercial Information Centers at the location of the members of the Net, so that they will be able to generate their own commercial intelligence, and to provide these services to the users of the Chambers, which belong to the Federation.

Furthermore, on July 5th, was held the Breakfast Conference �Participation of the National Industry in the Acquisitions of the Public Sector�. This conference was given by Mr. Raul Sagasti, Minister of Industries and Competitiveness.  In this important event participated many of our members, as well as many members from the other bi-national chambers that belong to FECABE.

On Friday, July 27th, took place the Seminar �Hydrocarbons Industry � Perspectives�, in which several top executives of the petroleum industry of our country, and executives from the Government gave their speeches.  This seminar was organized by the Ecuadorian American Chamber of Commerce in coordination with FECABE.

In addition, I am pleased to inform you that FECABE has constituted the Committees of Energy, of Information Technologies, Communications and Telecommunications, of Events, of Image, and the Committee of Governmental Relationships.  These committees are working actively in the fulfillment of the objectives pursued by the Federation.
